In case you're "too old" too

As I'm trying to "fine tune" my blog layout and settings, I realize that the font for the posts is awfully small.  Actually this was pointed out by my husband, who recently celebrated one of those "big" birthdays and hasn't had time to get to the ophthalmologist in more than a few years.  So in case any other readers  are having the same problem I shall try to remember to select "large" rather than "normal" font when I post.  Maybe now I'll get some comments??  (hint, hint)

WARNING!!

I just wasted over an hour playing Pac Man (but it was fun!!)  I'm not nearly as good as I was 30 years ago, and I don't like having to use the arrows to control the little guy.  Give it a try and let me know how you do.  

first, the good news

In the last couple days I've discovered that two people whom I admire also have blogs on blogspot.  One is my friend Scott Hawkins, but I notice that no one has ever posted any comments on his either, so I'm not sure what that means.  The other person who has a blog is Beth Moore, and of course she has lots of comments (I actually didn't spend much time looking at hers.)  My only comment so far is from my incredibly loyal husband, because I asked him several times to please post a comment.  I think you could say that he's a computer geek, and he even had some trouble figuring it out.  This makes me think that there's a problem.  (Thus the bad news: maybe I'm not too old, my friends and family are just too old to figure out what to do with this blog thing!)

I must say that I don't see what's the big deal about blogs so far.  No one has even noticed me yet!!  What's with that?  And I haven't read any more in Blogging for Dummies today, but I'm too tired.  Maybe I'll try to add some "bells and whistles" tomorrow.

Well, I made it to page 47 of Blogging for Dummies, and it's midnight.  I'm disappointed that I haven't received any comments yet (just kidding), but I need to get to bed.  Maybe I'll even read for a few minutes.  I'm still working on Eat, Pray, Love.  It would probably make a good book for book club, but I should finish it before I recommend it.

OK, now that I'm an almost empty-nester I've decided that I should learn to "blog" (can blog be a verb?).  I'd like to see if I can eventually put something together to energize my book club.  Guess where I started?  My local library, where I found a copy of Blogging for Dummies.  As suggested in the book, I'm setting this up as a test site, until I'm ready to go with the book club blog.  So far, so good.
